I don't think the computer is using anything like that - its just been shown a bunch of pictures of men & women and then learnt something about the geometry/ pixels. Which is much more reliable than the 'wears makeup' heuristic.
And also, doesn't that mean the computer is suuuuuuper transphobic? I thought we weren't supposed to be able to tell someone's sex unless we saw their genitals. But then we're reducing someone to their genitals and anyway sex is a spectrum or doesn't exist or something
