Remember "gender reassignment" in the EqA (& in the GRA) requires no medical or surgical intervention (and even when a person does go this route that would not change HIV risk). Giving away the words 'male', 'female', 'man', 'woman' in relation to the risks associated with sexual activity - e.g. risk of pregnancy, risk of HIV transmission is madness. These things have *nothing* to do with gender identity.
I believe @HairyLeggdHarpy has a detailed & worrying thread about the total elision of sex & gender in NHS records. They have no coherent policy & this is just one of the contexts where that's dangerous.
