“MUMMY I will not stop shouting an I will NOT say sorry datcos I am NOT sorry and YOU aren’t my best friend anymore and you won’t get ANY treats datcos you’re a VERY naughty boy” Child is seething. My crime? Conditioning her hair.

Her her fair cut short and stop messing about with it - mummies don’t mess with boys hair. It drives me crazy to see women messing with daughters’ long hair sbdvthe girls complaining. Stop it?

Woah wait. She wants her hair long. She insists on it
I’m not imposing my preferences on her. It’s curly and it gets tuggy and that hurts her. Conditioner helps that.4 replies 0 retweets 9 likes -

As a curly hair person, I emphasise with your daughter. As a child I hated having my hair washed, conditioned, blow dried etc and would scream blue murder. I’m not sure what it was that triggered it.

Tried the no silicones- wasn’t impressed. I’ve stuck with my John Frieda frizz eaze mouse. Always open to suggestions tho.

I henna my hair, and that’s improved things. I always air dry, never blow dry. I’m currently trying out solid shampoo & conditioner bars (no silicone, I guess). It’s good. I do use the Tony & Guy curl cream though.

The no silicones thing is really only to allow you to give up on shampoo (that's the revelation IMO)
