Very sorry to see the comments under your tweet - I'm as baffled by them as I am by the UK Guardian's official stance. Trans rights are human rights; as a cis feminist woman, I see no contradiction. If our empathy doesn't extend to trans women, it doesn't extend very far indeed.
Yes trans rights are human rights, disabled people's rights are human rights, gay rights are human rights. But this doesn't mean that they are all women! empathy for transwomen, yes, but doesn't mean saying they should be in women's sports, prisons, refuges etc.
