I recognise all her stops along the way. The Eight Stages of Peak Trans: (1) Unquestioning allyship (2) Denial of reality noticed, but compassion says to ignore it "when in doubt, the right thing to do is to support the disadvantaged"
(3) Cognitive dissonance rising (4) Noticing the misogyny 'everything i read said women must move aside for transwomen' (5) Social paralysis 'If this really was the misogynistic atrocity it seemed to be, others would be calling it out soon'
(6) Watching the witches burn: 'I watched as perfectly reasonable women were harshly shouted and threatened for voicing concerns'
(7) The penny drops "In one awful moment, I realized that this wasn’t about the liberation of a sexual minority or about the peace and safety of societal misfits — it was men finding another way to subjugate and abuse women, by erasing them"
