By "beauty industry" you mean poor self employed women working from home providing a service just for women.... Who you are now blaming for attracting perverts, who have been emboldened by a law that makes it harder for women to say 'no' . Please go away and think.

I’m not blaming anyone and I am sympathetic to these women being targeted by a pest who is getting a thrill from shock value. I’m just saying there is another industry where women work where this problem has been solved - keeping women safe from pests.

You are putting accountability on the "beauty industry" to solve the problem of what is at heart a male sexually harassing a female. The issue isn't with the industry or the beautician, its with a law that permits males to identify as females & gain access to female services.

I agree, the law has gone too far. But my point is: how is it that some women can get their heads around touching penises at work (and regard it as no big deal)? The bigger deal we make over something, the more attractive to weirdos. the ‘eek it’s a penis’ reaction doesn’t help

GP women have to get their heads around doing prostate, STI, testicular cancer checks. Can’t do job otherwise. You’re suggesting these women are somehow different to other women

Yeah but you can't force an OBGYN to check your prostate. Different speciality!

What about GPs? My GP wife does them. I’m not sure she would keep her job if she refused. The speciality is irrelevant. My point is there is nothing sleazy about touching a penis in a professional setting. Women already do it & make no big deal about it

That's not your call! GP's have chosen a career that includes those activities as a matter of course. Someone in a female only salon has not. It is about choice.

I don’t disagree with the choice issue. But I suspect the approach by female GPs (it’s just another task, no big deal) keeps them safer from the pervs.

People working in highly paid professions have greater protection than those self employed providing low paid personal services from home. Who knew?!?
