This person appears to be arguing that because their hypothetical risk factors of experiencing these particular female hardships are nil, they should not be treated as women?

No. She is not (she is not here having been thrown off twitter so i'll take the liberty of saying what i think she is saying). She is saying that being a woman is a material reality. There are specific risks and vulnerabilities associated with that material reality, and...

... therefore there are specific (hard fought for) legal protections for women as a sex. These are not based on 'gender identity' - you cannot identify into or out of these specific risks & vulnerabilities so they should remain tied to the material reality of sex.

Hi Emma. I hope you don't mind me coming back to you. I won't go on. Your answer that women's & girls rights won't be eroded if males are able to self ID as women and have access to formerly single sex spaces seemed certain, but I don't think it is something we can take on trust

I’m afraid that’s just really not a real threat. A. Trans women are not men pretending to be women. B. The likelihood of any occurrence of such a phenomenon is so minuscule compared to extent of impact of the denial of trans women’s rights.

Men if they want to can pose a threat in many places, they don’t need to do such ridiculous things to do it. And denying people’s rights in highly oppressive ways in order to reduce a statistically non-existent risk just does not compute. I’m leaving it there.

"Statistically non-existent risk". The stats show overwhelmingly that males are a risk to females. 48% of transwomen in UK prisons are sex offenders, too.
