Why can't what apply? We can recognise that transwomen experience hardship and discrimination. But hardship and discrimination is not what defines being a woman. Nor are clothes or feelings or conforming to feminine gender stereotypes. Its female biology. Just that.
And there are specific hardships, needs and vulnerabilities which apply to people with female bodies (which Alessandra listed). Not all of them. Not all of the time. But they are specific to people with female bodies and the reason why there are specific protections in law.
Who benefits by losing words & legal protections for people w female bodies? What for? We can also recognise the vulnerability of men who cross-dress or identify with a feminine identity. It does not require we lose the ability to describe the material reality of being female.
