Everyone knows that TWAW is a lie. Incredulity (& goodwill) has been stretched beyond any reasonable limit. Only the manic male strength of a literally insane activism keeps it pegged-out this far. But the egregious excesses are now being noticed, by too many to remain ignored.

I know the question was rhetorical but... same reason many ex Muslims are anonymous. Ppl who dare to question a religion or ideology that is sacred to many put themselves in danger. They are smeared as haters & bigots. A new word is coined to render their thought crime a phobia.

I'm grateful I work in sciences. There may be a lot of socially unskilled people in my field, which can be everything from hilarious to hurtful, but the total lack of entertaining ideas like "human sex is a spectrum" is such a relief.

Personally it is because of the threats of violence and a strange male tracking me through the electoral roll. How about others?

Someone else who was open @AliciaMHendley has been reported to her professional association by someone on Twitter and is about to resign. This is why women stay anonymous.

Can't imagine - cld it be to do with being being falsely accused of being a bigot, racist, fascist, being added to nazis on twitter lists, being threatened employer will be contacted bcos they're transphobe (as opposed to pro women's rights). As I say, no idea!
