I want to be inclusive as possible, but I don't think self-ID should be the policy. It's at odds with what the law says. The trouble w this solution is that transitioning is a personal journey. It does not necessarily involve any hormones or surgery to change ID or legal sex. So Q comes to whether in spaces where ppl are naked/half dressed & expect to encounter only , should be allowed?

It's my suggested compromise. After all if you have lived the last 50 years as a woman and no one even knows you were born male it's pretty harsh to exclude you from the Pond just because you haven't had bottom surgery or whatever.

There is a safe inclusive space for transwomen already - the mixed pond. There is no need for the women only (or men only) ponds to be changed from single sex.
