I backed the funding campaign to support people's right to express their views about gender self-ID. I don't have set views on the issue, + don't know the details of the case. Orgs shld be able to be inclusive of ppl who believe that everyone has an innate gender identity & those who don't. Just as ppl w different religions can work together side. I dont claim a gender identity, but I will treat ppl w respect if their gender id is important to them 1/
At the same time I think it is necessary and important to have clear policy debate (& equality analysis) on proposals which make previously single *sex* spaces, sports, programmes etc mixed sex on the basis of gender identity.
