...but the point is people should be able to think and talk and disagree about policy issues openly. Institutions whose job it is to hold open that space are instead shutting it down. And that is always scary.

Trans women are women, period, and the real courage in this conversation is the one they display living life authentically despite the hurdles and prejudice thrown their way. Reducing womanhood (or manhood) to what there is between a person's legs is desperately sad.
On the contrary, it's the basic definition. We are sexed bodies. All the rest is personality. I'm 73, female-born, and I have no idea what it means to feel like a woman. All I know is what it feels like to be me.

Thanks! So many people feel afraid of saying what we think in our work place, when serious issues of safeguarding & equal rights are at stake.There needs to be a huge noise in support of your case, so courts and politicians get the message that we have the right to question this.
