I have begun employment tribunal proceedings for discrimination. This will be a test case to establish that “gender-critical” views are protected beliefs under the Equality Act 2010, as a philosophical belief.

...but the point is people should be able to think and talk and disagree about policy issues openly. Institutions whose job it is to hold open that space are instead shutting it down. And that is always scary.

You say "nevertheless as a result of expressing my belief..I was told my appointment as a Visiting Fellow at CGD would not be renewed'. So they specifically said it was because of your belief re trans argument?! Either way surely not 'sacked' if your fixed term agreement ended?
I fully agree with you on principle of your argument, but concerned this tribunal you're raising funding for will be about your right (or not) to have a new contract based on a proposal you worked on, but nothing to do with the gender debate?
