I think the answer will be in whom* Twitter have consulted on protected status ie: dropping ‘sex’ as classification. As with the interpretations of ‘hate crime’ from police forces, there has been a concerted effort to minimise sex protections in favour of gender. *Stonewall?

Well its an international policy, set in the US, so it may not have been UK orgs. The Twitter rep said "we use UN definitions", but I am sure the UN still recognises sex.

If you are called to appear before a parliamentary committee, surely you should be better prepared than having to answer 90% of the questions "I'll have to write to you on that"? Will we see the written answers?
