I don't think anyone can be blamed for no longer understanding what gender means Maya. It's only good purpose is to start a fight. EG: GENDER SOMETHING PERSON: "Gender." GENDER SOMETHING ELSE PERSON: "You startin'?" 1st GENDER SOMETHING PERSON: "C'mon then!!" etc..
I think there has been a bit of a misunderstanding! People saying #genderfree are I think saying the same thing you said (very well!) years ago in rejecting the label 'cis' (i.e. having the same 'gender' as sex).
