No, by all means I do not want to imply you are an extremist. But Peru law defines marriage as between a man and a woman and that argument never convinced me either, so... Im just less convinced by that prong of your argument

That has nothing to do with trans rights though. Some trans women pressure lesbians to have sex with them and lesbians have been raped by trans women who are biological males. I am against this fundamentalism.

I think the point here is, some restructuring will be needed... especially to account for these problems. You want to work this solely from legal status quo.

Yeah no, cis lesbians that are not attracted to a trans woman are not transphobic... that shouldnt mean that if one is, you get to call her and her trans woman girlfriend a heterosexual couple though

They are being called that, excluded from LGBT demos, sometimes raped. Really I do not think you are aware of extent of problem. Also, women are attacked viciously on social media for being TERFs (anybody who does not believe trans-fundamentalism). Try search KILL TERF on google

I recently learned of the TERF slur, so it is entirely possible that I am not fully aware. As I said, this is really not my field. I am just hoping we can protect women and trans people without having to pit one against the other

Well try that, and then try KILL TRANS and see if you find any woman threatening rape with a bat covered in barbed wire or burned in a grease fire. This is what women face every day on social media. From trans women. Who sound an awful lot like angry misogynist males to me.

Must we define a group by its most aggressive members though?

The problem w "just be kind" & call men women if they want to be is that (1)its illogical - do we not still need a word for the people with female biology? (instead of rebrandng that mysterious nameless group "ciswomen, transmen and some non binary people, or cervix havers etc)..

And (2) if you've redefined the groups you can't withdraw the concept when it hurts the people formerly known as women. Eg women forced to call her attacker "she" in court, women in prison forced to share space w a rapist "her" penis, girls losing sports scholarship to males
