Gender dysphoria can be a debilitating mental condition and people have all my sympathy. But sports are not segregated by identity but by sex, so why should this serious condition be a reason for men to compete in women's sports, and not, say, diabetes or depression?

Having gender dysphoria and feeling that the best way to cope with that is to live in the social role of the opposite sex is not the same as literally thinking that men can become women, or that all women share a common feeling of womanhood (i.e. a gender identity)
