Sorry no. We should be able to talk about things (like the Q of who can compete in women's sports or housed in women's prisons, or whether GIDS is effectively safeguarding) without hate, & without saying it legitimises some other people who are hateful, or that its 'like Trump'.

People can 'be who they want to be' within the realms of things that are possible. But literally changing sex is not possible. So Q of whether single sex facilities should be opened to people of the opposite sex is not questioning 'whether people count' ...

Reminds me of "welfare queen" discussion. While there surely are cases of welfare going to undeserving people, the campaign had mainly effect of hurting marginalized minorities. This now is a campaign against gender minorities. Common thread seems fear of those who are different.
