...but we cannot assume that everyone has a 'gender identity'. What everyone does have is a sex. And there are specific human rights protections for women and girls as a sex. This should not be confused with belief/disbelief in gender identity, or with how people dress etc...

(basically as with the tax debates, it is good to be clear on definitions & assumptions, good to talk, good to be cautious of perceived wisdom, good to avoid getting locked into warring sides, good for organisations to hold open the space for exploration and not close it down)

Yes absolutely. And particularly children, who are too young to be able to assess the claim.
