I won't be replying to the 'we are afraid to say things' part bc that does not deserve an an answer. I just want to point out that these types of arguments are the same made over and over against ANY type of 'other' (should I bring back the arguments against black atheltes?)
Yes, transwomen are vulnerable to (male) violence in men's prisons. So are other vulnerable males - eg effeminate young men, men w learning difficulties, sex offenders 10/

Prison authorities have a responsibility to protect all these vulnerable people. It is not obvious thar women must be used as human shields for males w gender dysphoria 11/

Many, many women in prison have life histories of being the victims of violence, sexual abuse and coercion by men. Forcing those vulnerable women to share with males undermines *their* mental wellbeing. 12/
