In which I get a comedy review from Graham Linehan....
. As friends will know I'm not very good at funny, but yes read these questions and non-answers out loud, you have to laugh or you might cry at the Minister for Women refusing to give a straight answer to what a woman is. https://twitter.com/Glinner/status/1107359745663557634 …

So a good friend, who has my best interests at heart messages me: "Uh oh people gonna think you're aligning with a baddie"... he tells me Graham Linehan "mocks and belittles trans people"

Your thread hits the nail on the head about the closing down of the debate. I’m concerned that applies to politicians. Is that why Penny Morduant wouldn’t face up and tackle the questions she faced?

Thanks Sarah. I think whoever wrote the answers believes (on some level) in the idea that we all have an inherent gender identity, and that biological sex doesn't matter. This seems to be an org position at GEO e.g. their recruitment equal ops monitoring does not ask about sexpic.twitter.com/GNT0zDesHb

If you really believe this then perhaps the questions are unanswerable, or even seem like unreasonable trolling . Does Penny believe this? Who knows. She answers that 'pragmatically' people w female bodies are women, but then does not recognise that sometimes these ideas conflict
