Thanks Sarah. I think whoever wrote the answers believes (on some level) in the idea that we all have an inherent gender identity, and that biological sex doesn't matter. If you really believe this then perhaps the questions are unanswerable, or even seem like unreasonable trolling . Does Penny believe this? Who knows. She answers that 'pragmatically' people w female bodies are women, but then does not recognise that sometimes these ideas conflict
Of course this is not what the law says. Utterly disappointing the Minister would not answer
They were all very reasonable questions in my view. They reflect genuine fears - it makes me pretty cross they weren’t addressed in a sensible way.

. As friends will know I'm not very good at funny, but yes read these questions and non-answers out loud, you have to laugh or you might cry at the Minister for Women refusing to give a straight answer to what a woman is.
