In which I get a comedy review from Graham Linehan....
. As friends will know I'm not very good at funny, but yes read these questions and non-answers out loud, you have to laugh or you might cry at the Minister for Women refusing to give a straight answer to what a woman is. https://twitter.com/Glinner/status/1107359745663557634 …
Thanks Sarah. I think whoever wrote the answers believes (on some level) in the idea that we all have an inherent gender identity, and that biological sex doesn't matter. This seems to be an org position at GEO e.g. their recruitment equal ops monitoring does not ask about sexpic.twitter.com/GNT0zDesHb

If you really believe this then perhaps the questions are unanswerable, or even seem like unreasonable trolling . Does Penny believe this? Who knows. She answers that 'pragmatically' people w female bodies are women, but then does not recognise that sometimes these ideas conflict

Of course this is not what the law says. The law still says sex is a protected characteristic. https://www.equalityhumanrights.com/en/our-work/news/our-statement-sex-and-gender-reassignment-legal-protections-and-language … And the women of MN were asking perfectly reasonable questions about that, and about safeguarding. Utterly disappointing the Minister would not answer
