I think what she is clearly saying is that we need to be able to talk about this without fear of being slurred, and consider that it isn't inherently "transphobic" to discuss the idea (or even hold the opinion) that sex-specific spaces should be retained in some situations.

What is there to talk about? I cannot use a women's toilet? I cannot go into a women's clothing shop? I cannot go to my local lingrerie shop to buy a bra? I go out with my friends..see a movie and at the end I 'have' to use the men's toilet? So what 'debate' are we having here?

Umm, are you being sincere with your question? the debate is whether women have a right to same sex spaces and competitions. Alongside all gender ones preferably. But sex is not gender. And women are still oppressed based on sex.

So according you I cannot use my favourite women's clothing shop? I have to use men's toilets...and trans men have to use women's ones? Anywhere else you want to ban me from?

But many many women have been physically and sexually assaulted by males. Self ID into sex segregated bathrooms is not sound policy for women, imo.

But I am not 'self ID' and yet you still want to ban me. I've had my GRS, met all the requirements and I'm legally a woman. So should my local clothing shop put up a big sign saying 'no trans women allowed'? Or is 'self ID' just an excuse?

So if I want a female therapist for PND, I'm transphobic? If I want my daughter to see a female GP, I'm transphobic? We need to talk about this whole debate without dismissing women's views as "just an excuse".

Still waiting to see what places I should be banned from, with my GRS and legally a woman. Oh and how is this to be policed BTW? An ID check won't work to ban me, neither will a genital one. So how is to be done?

You put a sign on the door 'females only' and you have another space with the sign 'all welcome' and you ask people to respect that. Of course some won't. Women are used to men overriding our boundaries, but that doesn't mean we must give them the *right* to.

Umm I see that sign...all the time...and go to the toilet that matches my legal ID ..which is the women's one. Be a bit strange if I didn't.. in fact people would probably complain if I went into the men's.
