Sally, you’re an academic. I’m sure you’re aware that the oppression of women has always been based on their reproductive potential and physicality, not their femininity? So maybe biology and physical reality are more central to the female experience than gender?

Yes. See, eg EHRC advice which, rightly, refers to sex/gender. Or, eg, dictionary definitions. The fretting here (and the unforgivable waste of public sector time) comes just from those who wish to divide women, be we cis or trans, against each other.
