I’m not saying that race and gender are identical, I’m just saying that categories work without being underpinned by biology. When I say ‘I met a woman’, you know I mean that I met someone who presented to me as a woman, not ‘I looked at her genitals’.
(just to clarify... this is a hypothetical example, not a real case that i am dealing with)

there is no need to invoke gender here. it is no better to be made uncomfortable by being forced by messed up notions of social politeness to share a tent with a creepy woman than a creepy man.

No children are forced to share a tent with adults (that is absolutely not allowed). This is about whether girls can object to sharing a tent with a boy in their age group.
