No, not a troll. I've tried very hard to not call names or harass. I have read your links. I also don't think I'm trying to "override" anything or dispute any of them. I'm don't imagine myself as an authority with any power. 1/2

To your question, I would just prefer that we stop using any category words re sex at all. Want to talk about reproduction, talk about each individuals reproductive organs. Want to talk about hormones, talk about their endocrine systems. Doesn't force anyone to change themselves

To whose benefit would it be not to be able to talk about women's rights?

We should definitely talk about women’s rights. I just don’t understand the harm of including all people who identify as women in that group.

Because an important part of women's rights are the right to spaces w privacy from men (in prisons, hospital wards, changing rooms, refuges, dormitories etc), not to be intimately searched by men etc. Can u see that this is not possible if u can't exclude men from category women?

Because to collect statistics and data about how women and men are effected by poverty, economy, education you have to be able to record data by sex not ask people "do you have a penis, uterus etc..."

But why does asking do you identify as a man, woman or neither prevent that? Only way I see harm is if 1) cis-Men strategically misidentify as women (I think extremely unlikely) or 2) Transwomen are somehow "dangerous" to cis-women which seems unfounded/transphobic

The majority of transwomen are intact males (ie social not surgical transition). Being forced to share sleeping accommodation, showers, changing etc.. or be subject to intimate searches by a transwomen will be just as humiliating & scary as if it was any other man

I think continuing this discussion probably isn't productive/I don't have much to add as a cis-man, but I would urge you to listen to how this attitude affects trans-folkshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-u5gYxXHoA …

Josh - the Q of whether transwomen are
or
is one of fact not attitude. Of course it is polite to use whatever pronouns ppl prefer. For eg. I would call Danielle Muscato she if she asked but I don't think she's a woman. I suspect you don't either https://daniellemuscato.startlogic.com/bio--photos.html …
