Given the many ways in which women are under-represented and trans people are discriminated against, worry about trans people being favored seems like a very strange place to focus ones energy on when fighting for women's rights.
The Drs & my parents observed my sex at birth, as for everyone (in some cases people have conditions that make sex harder to determine medically, but its not based on perceptions or guesswork). Yes on street, at work etc people are perceiving sex, but mainly getting it right...

I think the discrimination & harassment that transwomen get is mainly not because people honestly perceive them as women but because they see that they are trans (and this abuse is not ok). Often its homophobia (based on perception).

Apologies if unclear, was solely referring to whether sex at birth was inquired after in the moment of harassment (not whether doctor/parent etc literally observed at birth).

Ah ok. Sex at birth = sex throughout the whole of your life. It is not something that can be changed. Human adults are pretty accurate at perceiving sex in other post-pubescent people. I think trans people get transphobic abuse from people perceiving them as trans.
