I've been to lots of tax events over past few years: @TaxJusticeNet @FinTrCo @TheIFS @CIOTNews @commonvisionUK @KPMG @OxfordTax @OECDtax @IMFNews etc... there is precious little overlap in participation between biz/expert and civil society dialogues. Kudos to all those who try.

Ditto. And at times it's as if there are several tribes who are not comfortable on each other's territory and positively decline to cross borders. It can be hard going. So definitely kudos to those who try and persevere.
