Just 10% of public trust an auditor to confirm that companies are paying fair tax. Accountancy profession in crisis? #FairTaxFortnight
More broadly, v narrow governance & participation undermines credibility & content. Its not clear certification & consumer label model is right for this issue (ie. Fairtrade Mark style vs other models cf the Voluntary Principles on Security & HRs, Global Network Initiative etc)

If certification & consumer label model is the one..... then got to have a serious approach to credibility, conflicts of interest. Being the standard setter, advisor, assurance provider, and the certifying body in one org is tricky (!) https://www.isealalliance.org/credible-sustainability-standards/iseal-codes-good-practice …

When FTM says things like '1500 shops & offices have been accredited' people who are paying attention
(FTM accredits companies not their shops & offices) or
at misleading communication. Natural allies should not
everything, but also
and speak up. - 6 more replies

Maya, I think fair to say that you are now an outlier on matters of tax justice. You argue against beneficial ownership disclosure and public country by country reporting - core features of the FTM, which enjoys the support of everyone from icaew to Responsible Tax APPG.
