You seem to be getting very angry about your misunderstanding of English law.

When was the last time John Boyne was repeatedly transphobic in public, and legions of his fans came to his defense when people called him on it?
-
I’m sorry. I took Arthur at his word that it was ‘the principle’. Seems the principle is far less important if the person involved is a bloke.

John Boyne doesn't have nearly the reach Rowling does, and nobody was really defending him. Even the Holocaust Museum called him out for being kinda shitty.
-
Again, for the boys at the back. Arthur has said that he objects ‘in principle’ to wealthy people using the law to ‘silence’ people. Yet a millionaire male author’s action against a pretty lowly writer is apparently less worthy of comment than a woman taking action...

How many people in the street could tell you who John Boyne is? He has only made the news for a twitter spat with the Auschwitz Memorial. Rowling is a very high profile figure whose views make international news.
