We won with 53% of the vote in a challenging year. Our margin of victory is a testament to our brilliant team & hard working volunteers. We ran a strong campaign & fought hard. My sincerest thank you to the voters who put their trust in me to be their voice in the State Senate.

🗳️ Life is full of hard choices. The NY Governor's race is not one of them. @KathyHochul is the clear choice for Muslims. ⛔ Lee Zeldin is the most anti-Muslim and anti-Palestinian member of Congress. He should NOT be Governor. Please vote early this weekend 9am-6pm, or on Tue.

So if law enforcement officers shoot unarmed black people and lie about it, you’re not supposed to call for their defunding. But if law enforcement officers execute a search warrant signed by a judge against someone you like, you *can* call for their defunding. Got it.

The killing of American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh is an horrific tragedy. A thorough, objective investigation is needed now. Congress is committed to the defense of press freedoms worldwide and protection of every journalist, particularly those in conflict zones.

The Israeli military killing of Shireen Abu Akleh is devastating and infuriating. I condemn this unacceptable attack on her, on Palestinians and the freedom and safety of journalists everywhere. There must be accountability, and we must demand an end to Israeli apartheid.

.@ShahanaFromBK isn't letting this go. Unlikely anything comes of it directly, but even if it's all noise, I can't remember a time the NYPD has paid a price — even in the form of a few weeks of headline heat — for saying whatever they want to City Council. nydailynews.com/news/politics/

The passage of this legislation in the House of Representatives is a huge milestone for Muslims around the world and a powerful signal that Islamophobia cannot be tolerated anywhere. Standing up against bigotry might expose one to attacks but we shouldn’t coward. Stand tall. ✊🏽
