The mosque of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent and his wife Roxolana (Hurrem Sultan) in Mariupol was shelled by Russian invaders.
More than 80 adults and children are hiding there from the shelling, including citizens of Turkey.

By destroying culture, they try to destroy the people. It is more symbolic than just murdering the citizens. You only have to look as IS, it is one of their favourite tactics. "I will destroy your culture and replace it with mine"
