“Life is about tradeoffs” is an extremely self-unaware way to start off a letter urging universities to play football — coronavirus and the health of their schools’ players be damned.https://twitter.com/RossDellenger/status/1292830897260175360 …

Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) has drafted a letter that he plans to send to Big Ten presidents, identifying reasons why he believes college football should be played. @SINow obtained a copy. Sasse is a former university president. pic.twitter.com/xrpRjiWREf

Feel like there are other, more pressing issues Ben Sasse could concern himself with, but idk. It’s not like hundreds of people are dying every day as a result of a pandemic that the United States is uniquely bad at containing.

That's just the tradeoff he's making to limit the number of mean tweets he gets from the President.

It is really alarming that none of them will say "we really screwed this up so we can't have some of the nice things atm". Pretending is only prolonging it.

Why do you think these "nice things" are something our government has the right to selectively give us and take away from us, as opposed to things that we have the right to as American citizens? It's almost as if you're proud of being dependent on the whims of others

Would love to hear from some actual players. They should have a voice, probably the most important one, since it is their safety.

I would guess a multimillion dollar activity that is of huge importance to a huge percentage of his constituents is worthy of comment.

Clearly you've never been to Nebraska. This is a big deal for his state. And not just for football fans.
