Archive of an amazing response to Dr London's thread about male circumcision - http://archive.vn/00p77 (h/t to
@briandavidearp for a clean, polite and concise response to Dr. London's position.)Show this thread -
Here's an example of Dr London retweeting someone that's comparing intactivists to anti-vaxxers - https://twitter.com/CleanCutForever/status/1081185899952648192 … That's not a good look for anyone, let alone a doctor. And as detailed in the archive immediately above, grossly inaccurate.

The sum total of her advocacy in favour appears to revolve around it's importance in the Judaic tradition, which does not constitute "medical grounds" for supporting the procedure, as far as I'm aware.pic.twitter.com/Xvys9gwE4J

It's also part of Catholic and Islamic tradition, and those are ALSO not grounds for a gross invasion of any infant's bodily autonomy. If your religious tradition requires mutilating babies, perhaps you shouldn't take an oath to "do no harm", Dr. London?pic.twitter.com/k0wZQWouR3

Dr London retweeting people that compare intactivists to climate-change denialists - https://twitter.com/SunTzuTech/status/1081174625483177984 … Listen, we can and should study climate change. But there's no excuse to cut the genitals of infants. Not cleanliness, not phimosis. Neither requires it. No comparison.

Dr London citing claims that "circumcision does not reduce male penile sensitivity." I hate to be the bearer of bad news, Dr. London, but amputation or damage to ANY flesh with nerve-endings in it will call desensitization. I'm a high school dropout, and I know that.pic.twitter.com/6TdG4SdkpO

That ignores the keratinization of the glans, which would further degrade sensitivity, since calloused or scarred skin is inherently less sensitive than undamaged skin. Again, high school dropout, and I know that.

There's also evidence that circumcision causes psychological trauma - https://www.psychologytoday.com/ca/blog/moral-landscapes/201501/circumcision-s-psychological-damage … I don't see how it's medically ethical to inflict trauma on an infant that's incapable of consenting, especially without medical need.

At any rate, you don't have to believe anything I've said, since I've linked the threadroll for David Brian Earp's thread. Feel free to take his word for it, over mine. He seems quite professionally capable of addressing the issue.
