Effective immediately, out of an abundance of caution, the Red, Orange, Blue, & Green Lines will operate at speeds of 10-25mph following findings by the Department of Public Utilities during a recent site visit of the Red Line between Ashmont & Savin Hill.
The MBTA remains committed to operating the transit system in the safest manner possible. Riders should plan for additional travel time while we work to address these findings. We apologize for the inconvenience and will provide more information as it becomes available.

Why does every single line have to be slowed down!?!? The lines are completely separate, and the green line is literally a light rail!

This is going to add a few extra minutes between each stop, especially the ones that take long to get to. Ashmont to downtown is going to take 40-50 mins 👍🏾 when it's supposed to 25-30mins. Plan your trip ahead

the number of people who will not receive products and services today (including patients in hospitals that are served by commuters) is unspoken. Will , do ANYTHING to fix this largest productivity drain? This is killing our economy and well-being

And why is this? What did they find that was so major that it’s for all lines and not just the Red Line which you say they visited?!?
