Further, to the best of my knowledge, the US government has never formally recognized any UN decision on the rights of children. E.g. Convention on the Rights of the Child. United Nations. 1990. But do correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, our nation has a big problem with the human rights we violate but we’re great pointing out the violations of others. Oh wait, that’s changing because our President is befriending human rights violators at a steady pace.
