We know traffic is terrible and getting worse - so now is the time for the city to act. Today we share our specific recommendations for 2019 to 1️⃣ move buses fast 2️⃣ enable bike commuting and 3️⃣ make walking safe

Thank you for your strong support of the Eastlake protected bike lane today! “From the north end to downtown Seattle there are only a few routes you can go on, and so Eastlake is moving forward.” “We need that bike lane.” More at

We expect ridership to blow away estimates at stations like Ballard and U-District, just as they have at Capitol Hill. We’re concerned about the anti-urban trend in these projections that have real world implications. Capitol Hill station was under built based on them.

The planned protected bikeway on Seattle's Eastlake Ave. will make the street safe & accessible for more people. BUT, without your voice, the project could be at risk. Join a community open house, Thurs. Jan 30, to share support for safer biking on Eastlake. 6pm @ TOPS School

21% reduction on reported crashes since the default speed was reduced to 20 mph on Seattle's residential streets. 2400 miles or 60% of our street network. Data is for all non-arterial linear street network.

$1 million in misleading ads about fracked gas are coming to the Pacific Northwest airways in 2020. Gas isn’t a bridge fuel, it’s a climate disaster.

I wish Seattle's sidewalks were large enough for two people to walk side-by-side in both directions, a normal human activity that is currently not an option in most places.

CM Pedersen says a greenway will work for part of the route in Eastlake. It will not. The only relatively level, straight route through our neighborhood is Eastlake Ave.

If you ever bike on E Union, or would if it were safer, take the survey linked by this story. The new proposal is a big, welcome improvement, although it still ends too far west.

Thank you to the Street Station folks who came down in solidarity and to those who spoke during public comment! 💪🚊 If you agree that the NE 130th Street Station should be built sooner than 2034, please add your voice and send a note to emailtheboard@soundtransit.org.
