The Arecibo observatory is a giant 305-meter telescope located in Puerto Rico. For almost 60 years, it has been a reference in radio astronomy. In 1974, Arecibo sent an interstellar radio message to the globular cluster M13, with information about Earth and humanity. (3/6)
Among the many scientific highlights achieved thanks to Arecibo, are the discovery of the periodicity Crab pulsar or the discovery of the first binary pulsar, for which the researchers Hulse and Taylor won the 1993 Nobel Prize in Physics. (4/6)
