Step 2a: If you select Mid Roll, you get the option to manage Mid Roll ads.pic.twitter.com/Urr0V7lqqv
Step 3: This is the window that comes up with manage Mid Roll ads. The video I selected is about an hour and half in length. YouTube can place ads automatically, or you can place breaks manually.pic.twitter.com/XJkbXwPP9c
Step 4: Place automatically only put 8 ads in a 98 minute video. Keep in mind I am not guaranteed to get an ad to play on every ad break, because of how ads are auctioned on YouTube and how they appear on channels like mine.pic.twitter.com/y28sx1bmco
Step 5: Manually placing ad breaks is as easy as clicking on the time line, then clicking the "+ Ad Break" button in the upper left. This is 30 ad breaks in a 98 minute video. Again, YouTube won't place an ad for every ad break, so you will likely see less if I publishpic.twitter.com/eIEyuUShdO
Conclusion: When YouTubers like DSP or AmberLynn say they "let YouTube control it" are full of shit. I did the Place Automatically on a 14 minute Week in DSP video and only got 1 mid roll Ad Break. That's three ads in a 15 minute video (pre, post, and mid)pic.twitter.com/blf4T1hdMA
