    In my personal opinion, it's all about the importance of adherence to the greater social contract that we as a people are engaged in. If people want to make it an issue of ethics, I would argue that allowing incarcerated people to vote is in itself unethical.

    Here’s a good read on the “Straight Talk Express.” McCain crisscrossed the country in a bus filled with reporters who had essentially unlimited access to McCain. He made some gaffes along the way, but his authenticity & no BS style always made up for it.

    Thank you for saying this, Mayor Pete. The idea that those in jail should have the right to vote I find ludicrous. Do we as Democrats want to defend this policy in the fall of 2020 if Bernie Sanders is the nominee? It's not what we should be talking about. We'd be pilloried.

    Pete scares conservatives because they don't have an effective way of discrediting him. Frank Grahm fell flat. This made up Pence feud fell flat. They are going to have to try harder than going after his sexuality because that's all they have.

    In 2020 and beyond - air gap all machines used for voting and tallying -- no wired or wireless connections to the internet. - at all polling places. - prosecute alleged offenders. Not perfect, but puts us closer than we are today.

    Why arent we all freaking the hell out? The integrity of a free election is the only thing holding up a democracy. If a single state is tainted, the whole election is. Why aren't we going overboard to protect the process, to be as transparent as possible?

    This is suddenly getting very curious. Republicans are now conceding that Florida's elections systems were infiltrated in 2016. For years, the standard deflection point was that Russians didn't tamper with votes, they just "did a bunch of Facebook ads." What's going on here?
