What is even arguably the point of this @sfchronicle story? That we should assume anyone who tries to steal a cell phone is going to shoot their mother?
This is dangerous, fearmongering journalism in its purest form. It's got it all. 1/https://www.sfchronicle.com/crime/article/Man-accused-of-killing-mother-in-Sacramento-was-15897826.php …
There is a huge difference between drug possession (nonviolent, victimless), driving without a valid license (this could mean he left it at home or it expired), stealing a cell phone... Which the article implied LEAD TO MURDER (then sidenotes a prior domestic violence charge)

You can't just lock people up for every little thing, "oh no someone jaywalked and that's antisocial, best lock them up in case they try to kill their mother"

Lydia - how am I responsible for that article? How does it make my position less valid? If you hurt people repeatedly - you belong behind bars. 1/2

The psychology of woke people is fascinating to me. I meet them often. Intelligent, educated, good-faith people. They willfully ignore reality (like the death of Ms. Abe & Ms. Platt) just so they can cling to their belief system & think of themselves and before peers as virtuous.
