Prior charges or domestic violence are way more related to MURDER than stealing a cell phone, drug possession, or driving without a valid license.

What difference does it make? I don't want any repeat violent offender at large. First, protect decent citizens. Then, we can talk about rehabilitating criminals and criminal justice reform.

There is a huge difference between drug possession (nonviolent, victimless), driving without a valid license (this could mean he left it at home or it expired), stealing a cell phone... Which the article implied LEAD TO MURDER (then sidenotes a prior domestic violence charge)
