    The MEPs should not engage in the dispute about the supremacy of the EU law. The essence of Morawiecki's message is the will to establish a political system within the EU devoid of judicial idependence and separation of powers.

    is v right. The PiS RoL battle has nothing to do with the dispute about the delimitation of competences in the EU. It is a defense of an autocratic power grab. One should not miss this fundamental difference.

    Many good points, and , but misses fact that PiS battle with EU is a side-show in their domestic fight of autocracy vs democracy. Theirs is NOT a fight for plural EU politics vs judicial technocracy. Your take might well be the frame Warsaw seeks.

    I think we do not understand each other 🙂

    It can surely be both - an attempt to consolidate PiS power *and* an attempt to constrain EU power. The second aspect resonates with similar tendencies in other member states, including France and Germany.
