  4. This is awful news. My thoughts are with Garry’s family and friends and all those who worked with him at ⁦

  5. I want to make sure the long-term base will remain in Plymouth and have a debate in Parliament next week. Have you served? Is a member of your family in the Royal Marines? What does it mean to have certainty about where they’re based?

  7. Between 8 December 2018 and my election in June 2017, I have spoken in debates 142 times, mentioned Plymouth 88 times, tabled 264 written questions and has voted in 83.3% of votes. We will never get our fair share of money, time and attention from government if we stay quiet.

  8. - today I am publishing my 18 month Parliamentary Speaking stats. When I was elected I said I want to do politics differently – that means being open, transparent and more accountable as Plymouth’s Member of Parliament.

  9. The next Labour Government will scrap parking charges at Derriford Hospital. Tory ministers promised to sort this tax on the sick but they never did

It’s when the very richest bosses earn the same as the average worker does all year. Doesn’t seem fair does it? That’s why we need a new type of politics that works for the many, not just the few.

Good discussion tonight at the Sutton and Devonport Meeting about Brexit, electoral reform, democracy and the need for an end to this Tory Government. Passionate debate and a range of views. Good stuff.

Awesome membership report by at the Sutton and Devonport meeting. We now have over 1,100 Labour members in the constituency I represent. That’s nearly four times higher than it was in 2015. Great work everyone and welcome to :)

The Downing Street insider’s boast they’ll have the Brexit vote 30 times to get it through would be stronger if the PM hadn’t bottled the first vote on the deal...

No deal is bad for and bad for Britain. My position is clear and unambiguous: I won’t vote for Theresa May’s bad deal (and neither will dozens of Tory MPs) and I cannot support a no deal. What a mess this Tory Government is making of our country.

The main thing I’ve learnt from China’s moon landing is that the Chinese National Space Agency’s logo is a mash up of the Starfleet logo and the United Federation of Planets flag. Clearly some fans in the Chinese space programme :-)

Parking at Derriford is a big issue. It’s expensive and there’s not enough of it. A Government will scrap hospital parking charges
