🔹With almost 15,000 rough sleepers in safe accommodation it is our moral mission to ensure that as few people as possible return to the streets 🔹Providing 6,000 homes is a big step towards achieving this, helping people to turn their lives around and to #endroughsleeping 🏠pic.twitter.com/Fp2u3BUj1k

‘Moral mission’ - been looking at both words for 5 minutes - I’m still unable to associate this modern Tory Party with either of them.

@RobertJenrick @LukeHall Councils are asking rough sleepers to prove localism. How can someone homeless and been rough sleeping for 5years prove localism. Localism should’t apply to rough sleepers, Rough sleepers should be able to access permanent accommodation immediately.

Whenever I read a sentence like "it is our moral mission to ensure that as few people as possible return to the streets" from a tory, I can't help thinking it all sounds very sinister. Especially these days.

It is t just people living on streets, those "sofa surfing", emergency beds for those made homeless for circumstances out thier control. And also crap landlords and huge rent fees

This guy gets it. The next big challenge is to help these people off dependency and give them a reason to live, not just exist. 👏👍👊
