We will support rough sleepers to move into long-term, safe accommodation once the immediate crisis is over, and we are working to achieve just that.

Any suggestion that funding to support rough sleepers is being withdrawn, or that rough sleepers are being told to leave hotels is completely unfounded. Councils must continue to provide safe accommodation for those that need it.

Over 90% of rough sleepers known to councils at the beginning of this crisis have now been made offers of safe accommodation. This mammoth effort by councils and partners has been supported by £3.2bn of additional Government funding, which includes meeting accommodation costs.
