Trying to title my thesis ahead of submission in about a month (!!). Surprisingly difficult, given I've been working on it for three and half years.

I had the pleasure of working with Manzi during my undergraduate dissertation research. Manzi, as with all of the cats at TBCS, lived in a loving and enriched environment. I can tell he will be missed.

Interesting, given that the "open peer review" history on my paper in RSOS from last year has been doctored to remove offensive remarks and comments by an editor.

The first figure in tweet 1 is from a paper consulting Pagel (BayesTraits author) and still uses a different formula to the one in Bayestraits manual. Can anyone help me make sense of this variation so I can finish this chapter and hence my PhD?

Resulting values should always be double the difference in likelihood of the models presented. However, sometimes, the numbers just don't add up.

Help! Multiple studies employ the likelihood ratio or BayesFactor (depending on ML or MCMC methods) differently. Most commonly a sign switch occurs a the start, either a +2 or -2. See images. I can find c o u n t l e s s examples. /thread

I recently became a gecko dad. This is Steven. He’s short-sighted and likes worms, even if he can’t tell where they are. He was rescued by my sister, who fostered him until he joined me.

Using geometric morphometrics, we show that the pelvises of facultative bipeds and arboreal species are similar morphology. We suggest the functional advantages this morph confers to two seemingly very different locomotor styles, and briefly demonstrate fossil record application.

Over the holidays, I had a new paper out! This is is the third chapter of my thesis, and second paper from it. Please contact me if you require access. The pelvis as an anatomical indicator for facultative bipedality and substrate use in lepidosaurs

Back into the office today! A very refreshing Christmas break was much needed. I maintained a zero work holiday. Thesis write up properly begins now...

Koala's have weird gaits. On the ground, locomotion resemble a combination of marsupial behaviours & primate-like mechanics. On narrow substrates, koalas adopt a strategy distinctive to arboreal primates Study by pubished at @J_Exp_Bio:

That's yet another album by The Chainsmokers (World War Joy) that I'll have on repeat for days at a time. Something about their particular style of electronic production just resonates with me.
