In Coalition we tried to make the House of Lords an elected chamber. Conservatives refused.

It’s more nuanced than that, surely? After A50 trigger, even if parliament votes against deal, EU will kick us out?

I’ve not seen anything to suggest it could be. Presumably would need consent of EU27, which wouldn’t happen now?
