If we put say 1 lab of 70 computers per school,~ 4000 - it will cost us ~ $86million vs. over $400million for OLPC - can we reconsider?

I agree - but with many competing priorities in a resource scarce country - OLPC can come later!

computer labs output in schools & 1to1 access such as OLPC have different outputs\impacts the cost is only one aspect

labs are shared resources which require shared time tables between classes\subjects while 1to1 enables all subjects

you are talking alot of sense! That is called positive criticsm and being solution oriented.
I love this. Since Rw has fiber metropolitan, why not just put dum terminals in each school n access CPU from e data center.
